Jordan Balzar went to the Reno-Sparks Convention Center thinking she was just getting some ideas for her wedding next summer, but she didn’t see what was coming next.
Jordan caught the bouquet that won her a $600 wedding dress from Marchele’s bridal boutique. Her friend explains how it all happened.
“I won the tickets on the radio. I said, ‘we’re probably going to win the dress too,’ and that’s what happened,” says Lena Cordeiro.
The giveaway was one of many perks for brides-to-be at the self-proclaimed ‘Ultimate Wedding Planning Event’. The brand new ‘Grab the Gown Sale’ also gave some women a chance to get more than just a good deal.
The ‘Grab the Gown Sale’ has something for almost every bride with dresses running up to $600 all the way down to $50. Half of the proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen, For the Cure, Northern Nevada.
“This is a great cause and it benefits not only the brides and the vendors, but people with breast cancer,” says Samantha Dowd.
“For me personally, my grandmother is a survivor, so for me it touches me very much,” says Jennifer Pursel.
In addition to picking out the perfect dress, exhibitors were on hand to help customers with their wedding design, cake, makeup, and more.
“It’s so jam packed with information for a bride, but everything she wants is right here,” says Premier Bride Showcase Owner and Producer Shirley Lockett.
